Overview

The ReleaseResource control releases any voice/fax/ASR/TTS resource allocated to the current channel. If this control is not used, the resource will be released automatically when the call terminates.

ReleaseResource control can be used in the call flow even if no corresponding GrabResource control was used to grab a resource. In this case, ReleaseResource control will release the resource automatically grabbed by this channel and will return this resource to the global pool.

For systems using digital lines or station sets, where there are fewer voice/fax resources than there are lines, voice/fax resources can be used efficiently by using the GrabResource and ReleaseResource controls to use the voice/fax resource only when required.
