Introducing VisualConnect

Overview

VisualConnect™ refers to a set of components inside VBVoice that allows developers to build web-based mobile appliocations using the same methodology they use when building Voice-enabled IVR applications.

Traditionally, IVR (Interactive Voice Response) applications interacted with their users through voice (prompts or speech) and DTMF tones (Dual-Tone Multi Frequency) over the phone. VBVoice calls this connection a voice channel or a voice port.

In an abstract notion, a channel is a way of communication between the IVR application and the user, and VisualConnect introduces a new type which is a Data channel that allows the user to interact with the IVR application using text and other visual elements that are transfered using HTTP protocol and rendered using HTML5 pages and assisted with Javascript.
