VBVFrame ASR Properties Page

Use this property page to define ASR resources for your application.

The ASR Engine (read-only) shows the currently selected ASR engine (the ASR engines are selected be a setting in the VBVOICE.INI file).

The Nuance Packages property defines the package file containing the grammars used by your application. At startup, VBVoice expects this package to be loaded into the Nuance Recognition Server. At runtime, the actual grammar used for each recognition session is selected by using the VoiceRec control. Please note that the Nuance Packages property has no significance for the SpeechWorks recognition engine.

The Number of RecEngines and Number of Verification Engines define how many connections to the recognition server VBVoice will start, which in turn sets the limit for the number of concurrent recognition sessions available to your application. The total number of engines available on your network is limited by both VBVoice and third-party licensing. Refer to the RunTime Manager documentation to learn more about licensing.

The Number of RecEngines and Number of Verification Engines properties are shortcuts to the corresponding settings in the application configuration file.
