Creating and Editing Phrases

In VBVoice you can re-record an existing VAP phrase, add a new VAP phrase to an existing VAP file, or create a new VAP file and add new phrases to it.

Recording Phrases

You can record your phrases using a number of different ways:

Adding and Editing Phrases

Select the Greeting
  1. From the context menu of any control, select Properties and select Greetings.

  2. From the Format drop-down list, select the desired voice compression format. Choosing default results in the use of the format set in the VBVFrame Properties/General property sheet.

  3. Click Add Phrase to display the Select Phrase dialog.

Choose the phrase file and phrase
  1. Select the VAP Phrase page, for example

  2. Choose a VAP file from the drop-down list or create a new VAP file by clicking Create File. The new VAP file name appears in the drop-down list.

  3. Select the VAP phrase you wish to re-record by clicking the text script in the text window and clicking Edit. To add a new VAP phrase, click New Phrase. The Edit Phrase dialog appears.

Edit the Phrase
  1. Enter or edit the script text as required.

  2. Click Record to record the phrase. The recording stops after 3 seconds of silence, or click Stop to terminate recording.

  3. Click Play to review the recording. Clicking Record again overwrites the existing phrase with a new one.

  4. Save the new phrase by clicking OK to close the Edit Phrase dialog.
