The Pronexus Application Console is a great tool for answering and delegating calls to different applications. Specifically, the Application Console manages call routing to various slaves, centralizes performance monitoring, and logs calls and events.
The Application Console is installed automatically as part of VBVoice. To start it, go to Start Menu\Programs\Pronexus\VBVoice\Application Console.
The Application Console acts as the master program for the slave applications it supports. It supplies the available phone lines to the other applications. Using rules applied to each slave, it controls how incoming calls are served.
A slave's rule can be any one of the following:
DNIS - calls are routed to a slave based on the number dialled. Multiple numbers may be specified (coma delimited) as well as partial numbers.
ANI - This rule limits inbound calls to specified phone number masks. Multiple and partial numbers are also accepted for this rule.
Fixed Line Range - Comma delimited line numbers or pairs of start and end line numbers (i.e. 1, 3-5, 7). If fixed line ranges are in use, the DNIS and ANI values are ignored for calls on those lines.
Take All Calls - No rules are applied to incoming calls.
The Application Console also handles any received calls that do not fit the routing rule of any slave applications. For those calls, a message is played announcing that there is no service available and the call is disconnected. This default handling is also in effect if there are no slaves running or if the slave with the respective routing rule is disabled.
When the Application Console starts, it auto-detects slave applications by polling its arbiter for a list of slaves. If no slaves are detected, it will prompt the user about whether to run sample slave applications. Once slaves are detected, the operator is able to disable or enable each slave and specify its Call Routing Rule. The Application Console does not dispatch calls to a disabled slave regardless of its rule.
As the Application Console is running, the user is able to view the activity of a particular slave or the entire telephony environment. These open period reports are also available: call statistics, call details, and event log.
These reports provide overall system information as well as information at the slave application level. For more information on reporting, visit the link below.
